Q1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in Peru to a Peruvian mother and a Chilean father, and I am proud of my Peruvian-Chilean heritage. My family and I migrated to the United States in the mid-1990’s , as my parents sought to enhance our quality of life and provide us with a brighter future. I currently live in Clearwater, Florida. I hold a bachelor’s degree in economics and I am currently pursuing an MBA. I have been with Chase Bank for over 21 years, serving as a market director-banking. In my free time, my husband, Jared, and I enjoy love exploring the outdoors and spending time on the beach. We also enjoy relaxing with our fur baby, Ollie, and travelling around the world to learn from and experience other cultures.

Q2. Why did you choose the Business of Luxury Summer Programme and what did you gain from it?

I chose to participate in the Luxury Management programme at EDHEC because it offers a unique opportunity to deepen one’s understanding of luxury brand strategies, consumer behaviour and high-end market dynamics. This programme   has enriched my global outlook, deepened my cultural understanding, and enhanced my ability to cater to the varied needs of international clients. On a personal level, the programme has enriched my appreciation of luxury and excellence, which aligns with my passion for delivering top-tier service in every aspect of my career. Through this programme, I have also had the opportunity to interact and connect with students from diverse global backgrounds. This, in turn, has helped me foster a broader perspective and gain deeper insight into their professional experiences. I would highly recommend this programme to every student and would absolutely do it over again!

Q3. How did this programme help you grasp the scope of the luxury sector?

The Luxury Management class offered at EDHEC has significantly expanded my understanding of the luxury sector by providing insights into its unique market dynamics, consumer behaviour and branding strategies. Through in-depth analysis of luxury brands and their operations, I have gained a clearer perspective on what distinguishes luxury from other market segments, including the importance of heritage, craftsmanship and exclusivity. The course has also highlighted the critical role of customer experience and personal connection in building and maintaining brand loyalty within the luxury space. By studying real-world examples and engaging with industry experts, I now have a better grasp of the scope of the luxury sector when it comes to managing and marketing luxury products and services.

Q4. Explain why undertaking a programme in luxury in Nice makes sense.

Undertaking a programme in luxury management in Nice, France, makes perfect sense given the city’s proximity to some of the world’s most iconic luxury brands, such as Chanel, Hermès and Goyard, and its deep-rooted association with sophistication and elegance. Nice is a global hub for luxury and it offers first-hand exposure to the latest trends, innovations and consumer preferences in this elite market. Nice has a rich history in fashion, haute couture and luxury goods, providing invaluable cultural and industry insights that cannot be replicated elsewhere. In addition, Nice’s location on the French Riviera, surrounded by luxury resorts, high-end boutiques and exclusive events, offers an immersive and unique experience. Its proximity to Grasse, the world capital of perfume, further enriches the experience by providing unique insights into the art of fragrance creation. This unique environment is why Nice is the ideal place for anyone looking to excel in this prestigious field.
