OVERVIEW
Your MSc in Strategy, Organisation & Consulting in a nutshell
EDHEC’s MSc in Strategy, Organisation & Consulting prepares you for a wide range of professional roles that require critical thinking, intellectual agility and a multidisciplinary understanding of strategic issues.
[MSc in Strategy, Organisation & Consulting.
Programme Director: Mohamed Benmerikhi]
An organisation exists because there is a problem to be solved. So while embarking on MSc journey in strategy consulting organisation, we train students to grasp structure and solve complex organisations' problems.
With digital transformation or the implementation of new technology. Restructuring human resource issues do dealing with new generational dynamics and to help them make applicable recommendations by zooming in and out of organisations and grasp into their complexity.
So in the first semester, they have courses that are focused on key elements of strategy, formulation of strategy implementation. We focus a lot on implementation.
They learn the business model, then they learn strategic foresight and operations strategies. And this last course, for example, is delivered entirely by consultants. There are no academics. There is one consultant for every session who comes from various companies, ranging from first-tier to second tier to boutique consulting firms.
They bring in clients' problems that are related to different aspects of operations strategies. Could be the supply chain. It could be capacity management or inventory management. And they get the students to work on solving those problems. Of course, they deliver first, the overarching framework to have the students sort of develop an approach. And then students go on to customise that approach according to the problem at hand. And that's unique to our MSc.
What they will focus on, in the second semester is more of the organisational component. What are the determinants of companies’ performance financial risk management techniques. And they get exposed to a broad portfolio of electives from which they can choose
and customise their learning.
So the information we have from alumni, is that they work in all sectors. Some of them work for the government. Some of them work for the stock exchange. Some of them work in I.T. in fashion and aeronautics, in the car industry. And one of the things we are trying to do, in collaboration with Capgemini this year, is to slowly introduce sectoral approaches to consulting.
We raised awareness of the issues of sustainability, inclusion and diversity very early on in the programme. For example, we start our MSc with the Sustainability Day and understand how it relates
to their future organisations. We hope that they will perpetuate those values to make an impact.
The EDHEC Master of Science programme is accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research to confer a recognised BAC+5 degree with the Master's Grade. This authorisation was granted following an evaluation by the National Management Programmes Assessment Commission (Commission d’Évaluation des Formations de Gestion).

Innovative offerings and innovative strategies are the results of connecting previously unconnected planes of thought from within and outside a company. This course will place you at the heart of a real-life, multiparty innovation project, in which you will be challenged to develop a novel business opportunity by linking customer desirability, technical feasibility and financial viability.
On completing the course, you will be able to use foresight and apply strategic design tools to develop new businesses, run a multiclient project and develop clear recommendations. This course is presented by the EDHEC Chair for Foresight, Innovation & Transformation.
In 2022 more than half the global economy is based on or influenced by digital technologies (e.g., enterprise and customer social media, mobile, cloud computing, business analytics, Internet of Things, metaverse, artificial intelligence). Worldwide digital technology investment has been projected to total $5.5 trillion in the year 2022 (IDC Research, 2022). In this sense, companies invest millions of Euros in digital technology resources and practices but not all of them know how to generate the expected business benefits. The course will cover some of the latest trends and future predictions for business value creation in companies. This course has two key objectives.
The course will provide you with the theoretical foundations and the digital and business managerial skills to create business value from their digital technology investments. It will examine the digital technology selection, usage, exploitation, and growth for different purposes (e.g., transformation, innovation, and getting a competitive advantage).
Upon completion of the course, you should be able to make and govern key digital technology investment decisions to create business value, and strategically manage the digital transformation of a company, and design a digital business strategy.
This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to transform traditional linear value chains into sustainable circular systems. It covers core principles of the circular economy, critiques of linear systems, and key approaches to design, collaboration, and business model innovation, alongside methods for assessing circular initiatives. Through group projects, workshops, and case studies, participants will gain hands-on experience in developing circular value chains across various industries. By the end of the course, students will understand key concepts and challenges of circular value chains, design effective circular systems, evaluate their viability, adopt a systems thinking approach, and lead organisational transformations aligned with sustainable futures.
Information technology (IT) has become a major organisational asset that leaders must use in achieving the goals of their business strategies. Indeed, growing business complexity makes IT decisions a strategic endeavour. Paradoxically, however, many leaders navigate the IT landscape without the appropriate perspectives for sound and consistent decisions. Worse, leaders can make high-impact IT decisions without weighing up the consequences.
The IT Strategy course will equip you with the key knowledge, frameworks and understanding you need to make sound IT decisions that support your broader business decisions.
This course mirrors the capabilities used in advising organisations on leading digital transformation. The main objectives of the course are: to help understand a digital transformation-related problem and to acquire the consulting methods/approaches used to support companies in their transformation. The approach proposed in this course is practice-based case study.
Upon completion of the course, you will be able to understand how to structure consulting recommendations to answer a client problematic, and master strategy & management consulting methodologies.
The course explores the various modes of corporate development available to managers to achieve company growth, including mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures.
It will equip you with a set of tools to facilitate the selection of an appropriate strategy for corporate development, provide insight into the key success factors in creating and managing inter-firm alliances and acquisitions, and provide you with a comprehensive framework for executing M&A from initiation to implementation.
You will learn how to analyse a firm’s organisational health to make better (and evidence-based) recommendations.
Firms rely on a wide set of internal and external resources to deliver on the promises made to their clients. This course explores the strategic issues and decisions associated with the design and management of a firm’s resources and how they can develop strategic advantages with a focus on the disruptive changes ahead.
On completion of this course, you will be able to understand how operations and supply-chain functions support corporate objectives. You will also be able to identify megatrends and evaluate their impact on the future management of your firm’s resources, with a focus on digital transformation. The course includes workshops with our consulting partners.
Amid the new business landscape (industrial disruption, competition between business models, etc.), strategic thinking and methodologies are indispensable in identifying sustainable value creation. This course will look at how to structure strategic analysis, create opportunities for strategic thinking and communications training and explore business-model design frameworks.
On completing this course, you will be able to systematically apply critical, insight-driven strategic thinking to real business challenges, assess and analyse a business situation from a strategic and business-model standpoint and effectively communicate the outcome of this work.
A master’s project for a business client requires particular attention to those elements that will lend it credibility among an executive audience with limited time and an action-oriented mindset. This course is aimed at students targeting a career in consulting or corporate strategy which follows the traditional consulting format for internal action-oriented research and communication.
On completion of the course, you will be able to select and apply appropriate frameworks and techniques to support the analysis of real business problems and communicate robust recommendations, integrating the audience’s perspective.
This course aims to give you the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and manage financial risks effectively. You will understand the Concept of Financial Risks and gain a good understanding of the various types of financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk giving you the opportunity to make up-to-date decisions and contribute to the overall risk management framework of your corporation.
This elective provides an understanding of the strategic design field by doing and its relevance nowadays for sustainable value creation. Thanks to a user-centric approach, you will discover a discipline that combines business, creativity and technique enable you to better understand the concepts of User experience (UX), Employee experience (EX), Client experience (CX) and Business experience (BX) design from the French scale to the European scale by working on a real corporate case and by being challenged by an expert team.

All students must complete a Master’s project, which provides the opportunity to develop strong writing and analytical skills and to gain expertise on a given topic.
Our MSc students may apply to participate in a study tour. The aim is to immerse the students in a real professional and cultural environment, so as to become acquainted with specific industry practices. By way of illustration, our past study tours have focused on the creative economy in Montréal, on innovative businesses in San Francisco, Berlin and Paris, on value creation in the film industry in Bulgaria, on new tech in Dublin and on the legal industry and legaltech in London.
CeADAR, the National Centre for Applied Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, acting through its administrator, the University College Dublin (UCD), National University of Ireland, provides a 3-day training programme on “Business-oriented Applied Data Analytics and Machine Learning”. This programme, which includes master classes, practical exercises and corporate visits provides an extensive overview of applied data analytics to include data analysis and machine learning mechanisms, including deep learning. You will learn the theory in master classes, explore how key industries exploit and use this data in real life situations and engage in workshops dedicated to applying this learning to real challenges using data science. On completion of the programme, you will be evaluated on key content and understanding of machine learning and business-orientated data analytics.
In this course, you will be immersed in the entertainment industry through field visits and seminars to understand the value chain, from offers to the final experience in a specific sector as an illustration. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to understand the issues and major challenges from the entertainment, apply marketing techniques on management of entertainment offers, argue on the creation of value and create a crowdfunding campaign.
The objective of the course is to examine three perspectives on technology strategy: startups, corporations acquiring innovation, and software houses. You will learn about the concept of a technology strategy, the various approaches that can be taken in different scenarios, the components that should be included in a technology strategy, and whether having a technology strategy is necessary for every company.
The master’s project allows you to put your newly acquired knowledge and skills into practice. If you prove your ability to undertake high quality research, members of the EDHEC faculty or its research centres may offer you the opportunity to deliver your Master Project in the form of applied research, working under their supervision.
The personal and professional benefits of an internship are immense and enduring. The same goes for expanding your global contact network. The International Students Office – a team you can trust
Moving to a foreign country can be daunting, so it’s reassuring to know that the International Students Office (ISO) is there to help. The ISO welcomes more than 3,000 international students annually, helping them to settle in France and lending them support in daily life. It organises orientation events and multicultural seminars to welcome them to the EDHEC campuses in Lille and Nice. The team guides students through administrative procedures before their arrival and during their stay and answers any questions they may have about French systems (medical and home insurance, banking, resident permits, etc.).
Finding you a home from home
Once officially enrolled, we will help you to find suitable accommodation, either in an EDHEC residence or privately owned accommodation. The International Students Office is on hand to provide you with a list of apartments, halls of residence and other types of housing that fit your criteria. You can even ‘visit’ them virtually on our new Housing website. Our team will do everything they can to make arrangements with the owner and secure your booking. They can also arrange to pick you up from the airport on your arrival (where possible) and take you directly to your new home. The International Students Office also organises orientation events and integration seminars to welcome international students to the EDHEC campuses.
Untangling the red tape
EU nationals
European Union students can live and study in France as long as they have a national ID card. No passport or visa are required.
Non-EU nationals
Before arriving in France, students from outside the European Union must obtain a student visa from the French embassy in their country of origin or residence. Non-EU students must also have a valid passport from their country of origin.
One of the requirements for most visa applications is proof of accommodation in France. EDHEC's International Office is familiar with the visa formalities for most countries and will provide you with the necessary paperwork to complete. If you are concerned about your visa application, you can contact the International Office, provided you have already checked the relevant pages in the Welcome Guide and contacted your local embassy.
Parlez-vous français ?
EDHEC offers complementary French courses to all international students enrolled in our MSc programmes. Our French classes span all levels of ability, from complete beginner to advanced language skills. The goal is to support your assimilation into French culture and give you the linguistic foundations ‒ grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and comprehension ‒ to express yourself in French.
- Class size: 10‒25 students per group
Contact hours:
- MIM 3 hours per week (30 hours per semester + 6 hours of group projects)
- MSc 2h a week (15 hours per semester)
Instructor qualifications: Courses are delivered by an officially accredited French language teaching institution.
International Student Office | EDHEC Business School
[Music] Title: “International Student Office”
I just got accepted at EDHEC business school. Now I need to organise my arrival and find
accommodation. Luckily the international students office helped me all along this process.
All good, I'm ready. It is now time to reach France. On arrival, three key moments are organised to help me settle in: the welcome session, the services fair and the integration day.
I get a lot of practical information on different topics such as health insurance, public transportation, life in the city, and so on.
I met representatives from different EDHEC departments and partners during the service fair.
I participate in group activities, meet new friends and discover the campus.
Throughout the year, I visit ISO whenever I need assistance in my daily life in France.
Time flies, my experience at EDHEC is coming to an end. The international student office has been of great support before and during my stay, and it will remain available even after my departure.
Thank you to the International Students Office - Camilla Garcia Biel
[Music] A big “Thank you” to the International Student Office.
Camilla Garcia Biel. MiM Business Management student. Class of 2022.
So my name is Camila Garcia Biel. I'm a 26 year old international student from Peru, I'm doing the MiM track which is a three-year-long programme. The first year, you start with basic courses, with administrative courses. Then there is a year for professional immersion, and then I specialised in strategic finance and commercial intelligence. The most important thing is that out of all the business schools in France, EDHEC was the only one to come to Lima and actually meet the prospective students. After that I was completely sold. As soon as I knew that I was gonna come here, I was enrolled et cetera.
The first contact you have is with the international student office and they absolutely help you with everything. Starting with the visa process, with the housing process... They also help with anything you really need.
So arriving in France, what surprised me, for very good like very positive, was the international environment that I experienced living in the residence and coming to school. I was immediately in contact with people from different countries that I had never seen. And what scared me a little bit, was that the French level that i had before coming and the French level needed to be here. The gap was obvious, but people, especially in Lille, were very nice when I was trying to communicate with them. Even if i was using some English words or even some Spanish words, they were really nice.
The reason why I chose France as my home, is that it's the perfect balance from a latino point of view of the latin culture and the European culture. In the daylight you can see the difference and in the nightlife you can see the similarities. Differences and similarities that, at the end, really helped me develop myself as a person. And I think that's something that every international goes through and learns from. My first memory at EDHEC, it's the full day as i call it. It's the first day that we gather in the main hall and then we have outdoors activities, and then we eat together, they introduce us to the programme, they introduce us to the school. Being able to experience the location and the classes and the buildings, which are amazing, it's like a reality shock but a very positive one.
So if i had the all the amazing team from the ISO or the international student office members in front of me, the first thing that i would say would be definitely "thank you"!
Thank you, and thank you... Thank you for your help, thank you for your patience, thank you for your time. They really make the difference in the transition. The job that they're doing in that assistance, it's beyond what I've heard from other friends from other schools, from even other countries. For example, during the pandemic, they were very active and they helped us. And they sent us links for call centres, in case you needed to talk to someone, like psychological call centres and nutritionists, like they really take care of us in a very global aspect. I would just say thank you many times. The international office helps us because for example, they organise different cultural nights. The school has a lot of associations and many of them work with international students, for example, there's one called "Open Up" and they organise trips for international students. There are many ways to feel not or not feel homesick, and at the end of the course, it's a very amazing place to make amazing friends and that also helps.

One requirement for most visa applications is proof of accommodation in France. Again, the ISO is on hand to provide you with a list of apartments, halls of residence and other types of housing, depending on your criteria. You can even "visit" them virtually on our new housing website. The team will do everything it can to make arrangements with the property owner and secure your booking. It can also pick you up from the airport on the day of your arrival (where possible) and take you directly to your new home.

The Eiffel Scholarship | EDHEC Business School
[Music] Title: “Eiffel Scholarship”
Speaker: Sahil Dholakia – Eiffel Scholarship Awardee.
Melanie, can you tell me about the Eiffel scholarship?
Speaker: Melanie Colmart - International Recruitment Manager
Hi Sahil. Congratulations on this achievement. The Eiffel excellence scholarship is a programme established by the French ministry for Europe and foreign office. Its goal is to attract the top foreign students into French Business Schools for master programmes. It is highly selective and only the best students with excellent GPAs and profiles are eligible. The Eiffel scholarship awards you a monthly allowance, round-trip plane tickets between your home country and France, health insurance, and cultural activities. So Sahil, you were awarded this scholarship. Can you tell me more about the process?
Yes Melanie. The international admissions team selected my profile for the scholarship and
I had to provide them with some extra documents so they sent my whole profile and the documents to the scholarship team. Can you please give some tips for the Eiffel scholarship?
Yes I will. So first I would like to remind you that the Eiffel programme is a very exclusive scholarship for over a thousand applicants per year; only a few hundred are the lucky awardees. Secondly, you can only apply through an institution. So the first step for you, would be to apply and get admitted to EDHEC. Then before December 1st, our deadline, you need to send all your documents for this scholarship as one pdf. So for the documents, we will ask you for: your cv, your full academic transcripts, a GMAT or GRE and an english proficiency test and the most important part your motivation letter. This is a way to help you stand out for the selection committee and here are a few tips for you. First you need to be sure about your goal, you need to express why the programme, and the scholarship in particular, will help you achieve your dreams. Second, your personality. This is a way to show the committee who you are and why you should be chosen and if you have any extra link with France, this is a way also to give it. So Sahil you went through this process, do you have a few tips for future students?
Okay, so for the applicants I would like to say. Firstly, apply as soon as possible and most preferably before December. Because the earlier you apply, the higher the chances are for you to get selected for the scholarship. And secondly, I would like to say the Eiffel scholarship is the most renowned scholarship in Europe and especially in France. So it is also a big highlighted part of my CV. So yeah exactly, and for the applicants, I would like to say just apply as soon as possible and all the best to you guys.

Programme Insights
Why I chose to study a Masters in France | EDHEC Business School
[Ringtone] Ethan Brown. Master in Management graduate.
Hi, my name is Ethan Brown and I come from Tallapoosa, Georgia.
It's a little small town on the border of Alabama and Georgia. From my background, I studied business and a bachelor's degree at the university of west Georgia before coming to EDHEC.
At EDHEC I had the opportunity to study in the Grande Ecole programme, as well as the Master's in Strategy, Organisation and Consulting. So extracurricularly, I had the opportunity to travel with the National Geographic society. That gave me a really good thirst for seeing what goes on outside of Tallapoosa. At the same time it was very clear that if you wanted to go outside of Tallapoosa and stay outside of Tallapoosa, you needed to have an education. At this moment I asked a very important question that kind of brought me to EDHEC, which was "if I could be in your place in 30-40 years what do I need to change now to get there?". If you want to be a vice president of an international operations company, you need to be international.
At EDHEC there's a lot of business games, which is more of a tangible hands-on way of approaching learning, which is a lot more impactful than just reading a book. There are multiple opportunities: we have computer simulation challenges. We're trying to run your company better than the groups that are right next to you, and you have to make decisions every round. There are also opportunities where you're doing partnerships with local companies and trying to help them figure out how they're going. They could approach a new challenge, or a new technology, that they were wanting to add to their company. It's the EDHEC Open Innovation challenge. And after, there's just the general approach to pedagogy or learning at EDHEC, which is the general approach to learning is that EDHEC is focused on groups, it's not focused on presentation, it's not focused on books. So these are the types of things that prepare you best for the world after education. So at EDHEC I had the opportunity to win the KPMG international case competition for France, with my fellow EDHEC team. And we went to compete internationally in Lisbon, which was an amazing experience, one that I won't ever forget. As well, I had another team at EDHEC that competed in the HEC business game, which is a different kind of simulation, but very much the same case competition structure. The real difference at EDHEC, is if you want to push further and go outside and go beyond what the other students are doing, not just about coming here and coming to class, it's about participating in a programme that enables you, 1)get the work experience 2) adjust to the culture and 3) the technical abilities and soft skills you need in an international context.
My academic and professional journey | EDHEC Business School
[ringtone] Difei Guo. Graduate Master in Management.
I'm from the northeast of China, a place that is near Russia, Japan, Korea and super cold in winter, minus 30 degrees.
My dad is a doctor, my mom is a nurse. I went to the University of Nottingham. It's a British university and I chose the major of international business, because I kind of want to explore the business world. So I can figure out what I like, what I don't like.
At that point, I kind of realised my passion in marketing and branding, and I also have this urge to explore another culture. During my study in the university of Nottingham, actually I did that exchange programme in France. It’s in that semester, I really like French language and culture, and like the lifestyle here. Especially the arts and the museum. Since it's always something I really enjoy. So I decided to take a master's program in France. That's why I met EDHEC. It's really a top business school with this three year master’s programme, to not only give me a double master's degree but it also gave me a one year chance to develop a career here. Have international working experience. So that's why I decided to take this opportunity and really start this journey.
The first year, we really dive into the business management work, have a master level understanding, which align with my formal experience. And second year, I have one year of professional experience. So I can take real life experience working in different industries, in an international environment. And then last year, I can choose the specialisation. So it really depends on what you understand in the previous two year experience. So far, I have a lot of opportunities. I got offers from China, from London… opportunities in Germany. Also I have finished my internship at Amazon in Luxembourg. So I would say, if I didn’t have that experience at EDHEC, I wouldn’t have had this amazing opportunity from different countries. And I would say, it's really the strategic thinking in the second master I got, plus the international working experience, that really made my resume stand out.
Actually if you read the survey, the most friendly city in France is actually Lille. Especially for international students. It's a city near the border, very close, probably 30 minutes to Belgium and not far from the Netherlands, and also kind of close to the UK. You can take the Eurostar directly to London. So that position really gives international students a great opportunity to explore. Since you can have your career life, you can have your study life, but at the same time you can enjoy European culture.
So I would say, EDHEC helped me to become a more authentic person and find my true value. Not to mention the support from the school, from the career centre and all the amazing schoolmates and alumni I have met during this three years’ journey. Every time, I push myself out there, put myself in danger, and then I grow. And I achieved something I could never imagine. So this will be my aspiration. I will keep doing the same thing in the future.
