Master in Management - Business Management track

Please briefly introduce your current workplace and position.

I currently work at Bosch Group (Industrial Sector) in the Strategic Planning/Strategic Project Management Office.

My main responsibilities include developing business unit and portfolio strategies, conducting competitor analysis, and driving service improvement projects (using lean methodologies).

How did you find your current job?

I found this job through a LinkedIn search for relevant positions and applied via the company’s official website in July-August 2021.

Did EDHEC provide any assistance in your job search?

EDHEC provided a lot of support during my job search, specifically in the following three areas:

1. During my Master in Management programme, the school offered a gap year, allowing me a year for two internships. This helped me continuously explore myself and gain a deeper understanding of my preferred industry and roles.

2. In my final year of specialisation, I chose courses related to strategic consulting. These courses equipped me with many practical skills and involved interesting projects. The guidance from the professors was crucial to my job search.

3. The school offered excellent job search and career planning support. From the first year of my postgraduate studies, the school organised numerous forums and corporate presentations. The career centre also provided resume revision and counselling services. These resources helped me quickly understand different career paths and start planning my career development from the beginning of my studies.

How did the EDHEC programme help you succeed in your current job?

The programme helped in several ways:

  • Through multiple internship experiences, I gained an understanding of various industries and client-side perspectives, enabling me to make more informed career choices upon graduation.
  • Skills in critical thinking and case analysis frameworks helped me quickly grasp different industries and establish my own thought process in my work.
  • Through school-enterprise cooperation projects, I had the opportunity to work with industry professionals, providing me with insights into workplace behaviour and work styles.

Do you have any advice for Chinese alumni currently looking for jobs or internships?

For Chinese alumni seeking jobs, my advice is to think ahead about your career direction for the next 3-5 years before starting your job search. Clarify your functional and industry preferences and focus on those areas.
