EDHEC Career Booster Days: projecting BBA students into their future careers
At the start of each academic year, EDHEC Business School organises its EDHEC Career Booster Days on the Nice and Lille campuses for over 650 students on the fourth year of the EDHEC International BBA. Featuring a cocktail of one-to-one interviews, group exercises and conferences, the two-day seminar has a twofold objective: project students into their future careers right from the start of the fourth year, and give them the keys to find their final internship or a job that matches their expectations.
EDHEC Career Booster Days: preparing students to enter the job market
The first day is devoted to the online preparation of students. They undertake an online review of their professional experience, fine-tune their CV and work on their oral presentation. Later on, each student meets a consultant for a job interview. “Over 60 career coaches are present on the Nice and Lille campuses”, says Maréva Gardin, head of the BBA Career Centre. “They’re specialised in the sectors and jobs targeted by our students”. Students then receive personalised feedback, with advice on the sectors or jobs they’re interested in, tips for improving their CV and strategies for finding an internship.
The second day begins with group exercises built around job interviews: simulated interviews with coaches, or sessions that teach students how to respond to typical interview questions. The afternoon features various conferences run by career specialists (market finance, financial management, data, luxury goods, etc.), who present recruitment processes, the state of the market and internship search strategies suited to the fields concerned. “These two days are representative of the career support provided by EDHEC: personalised and suited to each student’s needs”, underlines Ann Leclair, Director of the Career Centre at EDHEC Business School.
The EDHEC Career Booster: comprehensive support
EDHEC Career Booster Days are an integral part of EDHEC’s career support programme: the EDHEC Career Booster. The programme supports students throughout their studies with the School. It focuses on three main themes: self-knowledge, preparing for recruitment processes and connecting with companies.
Right from the first year, the EDHEC International BBA offers students a number of conferences run by career advisors that help them to discover certain sectors and jobs. Workshops on writing CVs and motivational letters also prepare them for their first in-company internship. The support then ramps up in the second year and continues to the end of their studies, with conferences on networking and numerous events bringing them into contact with companies: recruitment fairs, sector focuses or events built around employer brands and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Lastly, throughout their studies, students enjoy individual appointments with career advisors who provide personalised advice on clarifying their career plans, improving their CVs and motivational letters, and preparing for job interviews.
